Scratches on the playing side, playback, case and booklet condition.

Cassettes

Tape quality, reels, playback noise, case and printing condition.

Questions about grading

Does sealed packaging guarantee Mint?

No. Sealed packaging can hide manufacturing defects, warping or storage damage. “Sealed” describes packaging, not media condition.

Why are media and sleeve graded separately?

They are separate parts. An NM record can have a worn VG sleeve. Check both grades and photos before buying.

Does a grade mean playback was tested?

Not necessarily. Grades may be visual. Check the seller’s playback notes and contact us if testing is not specified.

How are CDs and cassettes graded?

For CDs, check the playing side and booklet; for cassettes, the tape and case. Visual grading is not a substitute for playback testing.
